However, since I have been following this series for so long, it got me thinking about other book series that I've LOVED either when I was little or series that I've read with kids.....So here are some I really love (ranging from those for little kids to those for older kids):
- Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel
- Little Bear by Else Minarik
- Mr. Putter and Tabby by Cynthia Rylant
- Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren
- Mrs. Pigglewiggle by Betty MacDonald
- Ramona/Henry Huggins by Beverly Cleary
- Aliens Stole My Homework by Bruce Coville
- Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
- Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins
- The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
- His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Well, we are taking Anna to the HP movie tonight--just try and keep her away!
ReplyDeleteWe are also reading the Narnia series together--we just started Prince Caspian and we are enjoying it very much!
I will tell Anna to post some of her favorite series.

Braedon asked me to say he loves "Encyclopedia Brown" and also "39 Clues". "Encyclopedia Brown" is currently on top, though.

Cameron was enthralled by the 39 Clues - and he did not put them down until he read all 11 - he can't wait until the new series is published.
ReplyDeleteAnd he says to tell you he's reading "Bone" and might try "Charlie Bone" but really likes the book on Yo-Yo tricks he found at the WPL.

And, I have to read him Harry Potter Book 7 so he can see the movie. We read 1-6 as a family through 1st grade - 2nd gr he was bored with Harry and now he wants us to read 7 together,
I know this is awkward, but I just saw your facebook post and couldn't resist. I love Harry Potter, as you already probably know. I read the whole series three times over the school year, and went to the midnight show. Now I can't find anything to read!!
